Beautiful Butterflies

Date: 9th May 2016 @ 11:20am

Over the weekend the caterpillars in their cocoons emerged as butterflies! We were very excited to see them this morning. They are still laying very still inside the net and occasionally flap their wings which helps pump a special liquid into their wings to stretch, strengthen and harden them. We are going to make some food for the butterflies by mixing sugar with water and then sprinkiling it into the net for the butterflies to splurp up. They also like to eat fruit such as oranges or old bananas. We will keep the butterflies for four days and then we are going to release them into the wild.
