Bentley Weekly Update 05/10/18

Walk to School Day – Next Wednesday, 10th October, is Walk to School Day. We will be organising a walking bus at 8:30am from the War Memorial. Please bring your child along to join us if you can. Last year we had over half the school all walking down together, we would love to beat our record this year!

Accessible Parking – Thank you to the vast majority of parents who have been very considerate in their parking around the accessible parking space; however, there have been a couple of occasions where cars have parked just over the white markings, meaning that a car can’t get into that space. Please be mindful of this when parking.

Wolves Parents – We have two events coming up next week that we would really like some parent help with; On Tuesday we will be making crumble and would love some extra adult help from 2pm. On Thursday, from 2pm, we are taking a walk round the village to practice road safety and see what there is in Bentley. If you can help with either of these, please speak to Mrs Rudge or email in.

Eco Council Halloween Disco – Hopefully you will have seen the posters up for this year’s Halloween Disco to be held on Friday 2nd Nov. Tickets are available from the office for just £2.50 which includes drinks and a hotdog. Face painting will again be organised by the lovely Aimee Louis and will cost just 50p each and the school council will be running their sweet stall with lots of goodies from just 20p each.

If you have any spare Halloween decorations that Eco Council could use to decorate the hall for the disco, please speak to Mrs Duff who would be very grateful to hear from you.

Phonics Workshop – Just a quick reminder that there will be a FREE phonics workshop for Wolves Parents from 2 to 3pm on Monday at Copdock Primary.

Year 4/5 Music Concert – The vast majority of parents have now made a contribution to the cost of the trip next Friday, if you have not done so already, please bring the £2 in on Monday, thank you.

Shared Learning – Our first exciting sharing of learning will take place on Friday 2nd November, before the Halloween disco. If you have more than one to child at the school, please join us from 2:15pm to share their wonderful work in class with them; if you are visiting just one child, we would be very pleased to see you from 2:45pm. It is a great opportunity for parents and carers to see what children have been learning and for children to proudly show what they have achieved. Please do join us if you can.

Finally….. we have missed the children from Adders class who have been on their residential visit all week; we are ever so excited to hear all about their adventures and look forward to sharing their experiences when they return to school.
