Blue Cross Fundraiser – We are very much looking forward to a visit from the wonderful animal charity, The Blue Cross, when they come in to do a special assembly later this month. In preparation for this visit, we are having a ‘Come to School Dressed in Blue’ day on Monday 17th June to raise money for the charity. If your child would like to take part, they can come to school in any clothes they like as long as it contains some blue somewhere in return for a £1 donation. A couple of the parents have very kindly agreed to do animal face painting on the day also in return for a (additional) minimum £1 donation. We have a wonderful history of our fabulous families giving generously to the charities we support, but as ever, this is completely optional and if your child would rather not take part, that is absolutely fine.

Communication Survey – Thank you to the 18 Bentley parents who have completed the communication survey online; if you have not had the chance to do so already, please visit

https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/QQ8FXHH to complete the survey and share your views.

Donuts With Dad – This lovely opportunity for our wonderful DOBS (Dads of Bentley), to come in and share a treat with their child/ren, is taking place next Thursday, 13th June. There are 2 sittings, the first being 2:00 – 3:00pm and the second being 3:15 – 4:15pm. Tickets are just £5 and are available from Aimee or drop your money into the office.

PE at the Field – We are hoping that the clouds are absent on Tuesday so we can finally get up to the field for PE. Assuming the weather is kind to us, all children will need collecting from the field at 3:15pm; for those children taking part in the football after school club, they will need collecting from the field at 4:15pm. Please ensure all children have their full PE kit and drinks bottle in every day as we don’t just do PE on Tuesdays, we do a variety of different activities throughout the week also. Thank you.

Year 5/6 Quad Kids – Selected children will be representing the school at this year’s mini Olympics style competition to be held at Northgate on Wednesday. If your child is one of those attending, please ensure they have drinks and plenty of snacks / packed tea as it is quite a long day! Good luck to those children taking part, do us proud!

Year 4 Sleepover – Excitement is building for the Year 4 sleepover being held here at Bentley this year. All the year 4 children from across the federation will come together for an evening of fun and friendship.

Hedgehogs Trip to Minsmere – Just a bit of early notice for parents of children in Hedgehogs class, we will be travelling with Woodpeckers Class from Copdock to the Minsmere Nature Reserve and Beach on Tuesday 9th July. The PTA have very kindly agree to help with a big chunk of the cost to reduce the amount we will be asking parents to contribute. A letter with more details will come home in due course.

Adders Trip to Sutton Hoo – We are very excited to confirm that we have been successful in getting a date to go and visit the new education and visitor facilities that have just opened up at Sutton Hoo. We are booked in to take part in a selection of hands on and fascinating activities on the site, to really enhance our learning about the Anglo Saxons. We are booked in for 1st July; a letter with more details will be coming home very soon.

Bunnies – The Bentley Bunnies sessions start next week; the new children due to join us in September will be coming in on Friday mornings to get a taste of what it is like here at Bentley School. We are very excited to meet them all and if you see them and their parents one the playground, do go and say hello and welcome them to the Bentley Family.
