Year 6 to EBHS 5th June – All children in Year 6 will be travelling to EBHS on 5th June to take part in the annual Kate Greenaway Book Shadowing Day. Children need to be dropped at the High School by parents / carers at 9am please, we will transport them back to Bentley after the event. All Year 6 pupils will need a packed lunch and drinks on the day and will be back at school before the end of the school day. If you are unable to get your child to the High School for this time, please let us know asap and we will put you in touch with other parents who may be able to help. Likewise, if you are able to help take an extra child on the day, please let us know. Thank you.

Move Suffolk Week – We are very excited to tell you about a fantastic website that has now launched ready for the Move Suffolk Week. Just visit www.movesuffolkweek.com and find a huge range of offers and freebies to encourage you and your family to get moving. Offers are being added almost daily so keep checking the site for activities that might interest you.

Coffee and Chat Friday 7th June 2pm – Please come and share a cup of tea with Mrs Rudge and discuss the work we have been doing on developing our Christian vision and linking it to our school vision. We will also be chatting about plans for the year ahead. Don’t forget – straight after coffee and chat will be shared learning in your child’s class from 2:30pm, do come along and see your child’s work if you can.

Year 6 SATs – Quick reminder that Mrs Robinson will be running a SATs breakfast from 8:30am Monday to Thursday next week for all children in Year 6. Her message to the children for this weekend is “just chillax”, do lots of fun things and don’t fret about the papers next week, you have all worked really hard!

PE Kits in Every Day – Please, please ensure your child has their PE kit in school every day as the time table can be fairly varied and different activities are scheduled at varying times. PE kits only need to be taken home for washing at the end of each half term but we do appreciate that some parents like to wash them weekly, so if you prefer, kits can be taken home on a Friday and returned for Monday morning. Thank you for your support with this.

Greek Day – The costumes were fabulous today! Thank you to those families who helped make the day a visual and memorable delight. We hope to get some pictures up on the website gallery as soon as possible.

Change of time – Just a quick heads up that the leavers’ BBQ will be 5-7pm, not from 6pm as previously advised.

Pleasurewood Hills – We are very pleased to tell you that the date for the year 5/6 trip to Pleasurewood Hills has been confirmed as the 17th July. A letter with the full details will come home closer to the date.

Sports Day – Details for this year’s sports day have been attached to the email for this week’s newsletter. It can also be found on the website. We are thoroughly looking forward to this year’s event, for the first time we will have 6 teams! After the May half term break, the whole school will be going up to the field on Tuesday afternoons to take part in sports practise. Children will need to be collected from the school field at 3:15pm please.

After School Club – After the May half term break, the after school club on Tuesday will be football for KS2 (Hedgehogs and Adders). If your child would like to take part, please email the school office by Thursday 23rd May. The club will run for 6 sessions on 04/06, 11/06, 18/06, 02/07, 09/07, 16/07 and will take place at the school field, finishing at 4:15pm. There will not be a session on the day of sports day or in the last week of term. The total price will be just £18 (second siblings are half price).
