Bentley Weekly Update 21/06/19

Words of The Week

Rec – ‘curious’ and ‘exhausted’

Yr1/2 - ‘remote’ and ‘lifeboat’

Hedgehogs – ‘luminescent’ and ‘sinister’

Adders – ‘component’ and ‘perspective’

Hedgehogs Homework – Hedgehogs will have a bit of a change moving forward with homework days; homework will now be given out on Thursdays to be completed by the following Thursday.

Sports Day – The weather forecast for Tuesday is looking very bright and sunny, so please ensure your child has a sun hat, sun cream and a good sized water bottle. We also need a supply of fresh water for the day, so if you are partial to a bit of camping and can bring a water container with you on the day for children to be able to refill water bottles, we would be ever so grateful!

Special Lunch Monday – Our special Summer Madness BBQ lunch is happening this coming Monday, 24th June. Take up has been amazing and we are looking forward to our special treat lunch.

Non-uniform Day Thursday – There is a non-uniform day on Thursday in return for donations for the traditional tombola at the PTA Summer Fair. As ever, this is optional and if your child would rather come in uniform that is fine. Please ensure any food donations are well in date and will still be after the summer fair. Thank you.

Photos – The photographic company will be in Friday for leavers’ and class photos.

U9 Quad Kids – Selected children from Hedgehogs will be taking part in the mini-olympics event, Quad Kids, on Friday. Those children taking part have had letters sent home and need to make sure they have trainers and a good sized drinks bottle in on the day. Please see the letter for further details. Good luck!

Adders to Sutton Hoo – We are still missing a handful of permissions for this trip coming up on 1st July. If you have not already done so, please email permission asap. Thank you.

Federation Music Day – Tickets are coming home today for the performances on the 4th July. Each family in the federation has one ticket for each of the 2 performances (11am - purple and 2pm - green). You are very welcome to swap amongst yourselves but entry will be on a strictly ticket only basis. If you do not need one or both of your tickets, please feel free to drop them into the school office so they can be given to people who would like extras. We are super excited and have been practising our various performances; it promises to be a wonderful day full of music and singing.
