Bentley Weekly Update 23/11/18

Christmas Plays – Children have scripts now if they have lines to learn. Wolves - the songs for our Christmas Play are on a Youtube link on Wolves Class page of the website.   Or search Youtube for 'Born in a barn songs'.  Please, please can children practise these at home. Hedgehogs and Adders – we are hoping to get the songs on the website during the early part of next week along with the lyrics. Letters about costumes will be coming out shortly; Noah’s mum Katie is on the case with a lot of the costumes so we are hoping that there won’t be too much that parents need to find.

Cinderella Pantomime – The vast majority of permissions and payments have come in now for the pantomime trip we have planned for January, thank you. Just a quick reminder to families who have not sent in permission and £7.50 per child contribution yet, that they are due by next Friday (30th Nov) please. We are so lucky to have got tickets at the discounted price; they are normally £31 each!!! We would also like to repeat our thanks to the PTA for paying for half the costs.

Christmas Fayre – As we have done in the last few years, we will be starting the event with the children singing some Christmas Songs on the playground at 3pm. Do come along if you can to support them. Thank you to all those parents and other family members who have kindly offered to supervise a stall at the Christmas Fayre next Friday after school. Unfortunately, a number of stalls have not got someone running them after 4pm so unless we can get just a few more volunteers, some stalls will need to close early. If you can help, please speak to Mrs Robinson.

Multi-cultural Day – We are looking forward to an exciting day of learning and exploration of beliefs from around the world at our multi-cultural day next Thursday (29th Nov). Please remember that all children will need a packed lunch on the day and will need to be dropped off at Copdock Village Hall. Please refer to the letter that came home with all the details last week via email, alternatively it can be found on the website under Bentley Letters.

Christmas Decoration Making – Just a reminder, that this fun annual event will take place next Wednesday, 28th November, from 2pm. We would love as many parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and even well supervised younger siblings as possible to come along and join in the festivities. It is always good fun and really gets you in a Christmassy mood!

Family Assembly Next Week – As previously advised, Family Assembly will be at 9am on Friday next week. This is because we will be setting up the hall for the Christmas Fayre in the afternoon.

Wolves – please be aware that the spelling test for Wolves class will be on Friday next week as we are out all day on Thursday. Homework which is normally due in on Thursday as well can be brought in on either Wednesday or Friday.

Year 4/5 Tag Rugby – Selected children from years 4 and 5 will be travelling to EBHS on Tuesday to take part in a tag rugby competition. If your child has been selected, please refer to the email for details of what they will need on the day.
