Parish Council Meeting:  Don’t forget The Parish Council are hosting a consultation in the school hall tomorrow between 11am and 3pm to review the housing proposals in the area.  Refreshments will be available from the PTA.

NEXT WEEK:

No Football:  Just a reminder that as Foxes have their activity week, there will be no after school club on Monday.

Activity Week:  Foxes have got a jam-packed week of exciting opportunities coming up.  Please see the brief grid at the end of the newsletter for more details on what is on each day.  Please ensure you have checked the drop-off and collection arrangements, and the requirements for each day.  Please do contact the office if clarification is needed.

Circus:  Tickets are still available for the circus next week – please see the information sent out with last week’s newsletter for more details.  Tickets will also be available on the door.

Circus Workshops:  All of the pupils will have an opportunity to try their hands at circus skills on Tuesday.  We would really appreciate some parent helpers to support walking from the school to the village hall, especially for years 1 & 2 in the afternoon.  If you are available to help could you please contact the office as soon as possible.

Forest Schools:  Next Friday is the turn of years 1 & 2 to take part in Forest Schools.  They will need a change of clothes.

Fencing Workshop:  Pupils in years 2, 3 and 4 will get an opportunity to have a go at fencing.  We are asking for a donation of £2 towards this please.  Foxes will also give fencing a try – this is included in the cost of their activity week.

MacMillan Coffee Event:  Everyone is invited to join us for our MacMillan Coffee Event on Friday from 2:30pm.  The children will provide some entertainment whilst our guests enjoy a drink and a nibble - £1.50 for adults and 50p for children.  To make the day run smoother, we would appreciate the pupils’ 50p donations BEFORE Friday please – for this donation, they will receive a drink and a cake.

We would very much welcome donations of cakes – if these could be brought to the office on THURSDAY that would be greatly appreciated.  There will also be an opportunity for parents to have a go at Fencing for a donation of £2 to MacMillan.  If any parents are able to offer some time to help clear up after the event that too would be welcomed.

OTHER ITEMS:

  • We will be collecting the ALDI STICKERS.  If you receive any when shopping, please send them into school
  • Please refer to the email sent earlier this week regarding EARRINGS in school.  Thank you for your understanding and support.
  • Please read the letter attached to the email regarding FLU IMMUNISATIONS.  Please ensure you follow the instructions to either give or deny consent.  Closing date is 26th September.
  • Please remember if you make any changes to your arrangements with AFTER SCHOOL CLUB to notify both the pre-school and our office to ensure the children are sent home with the correct people at the end of the day.
  • Following much confusion regarding the SHARING ASSEMBLIES, the revised and accurate schedule is on the school website, the noticeboard beside the weekly calendar and in the window of the school office.  This was sent home via email this week.  We apologise for any confusion caused.
  • KS1 are still taking donations of HANGING BASKETS, so rather than throw them away when the flowers have finished, why not bring them into school so that they can be re-used?
  • For those parents with children in Reception, you are now able to log into TAPESTRY – please do so swiftly if you haven’t already, as the window of opportunity is only 48 hours!
  • We have sent out the annual DATA COLLECTION FORMS this week.  The deadline for returning them is Friday 27th September – please ensure we have received all of the information required as this forms the basis for many of our legal documents held in school and is vital when classes go out on trips.  Please always keep us up to date with contact detail changes.  We have already had lots returned and entered into the box of chocolates draw!
  • If your circumstances have changed, or you think you may be entitled to FREE SCHOOL MEALS, please see the attachment to the weekly news email.  You may be entitled to it even if your child is in KS1 and receives universal free school meals.  Don’t forget, for those children now in year 3, dinners have to be paid for unless you are in receipt of free school meals.
