NEXT WEEK:

Swimming:  For those children swimming next week please ensure you bring your pyjamas (preferably shorts and a t-shirt), as well as your swimming kit with you for your pool safety lesson on Monday – no onesies please.

Christmas Cake Club:  Just a reminder that Christmas Cake Club is on Monday next week!

Parent Consultations:  The booking has now closed ahead of the sessions next week.  If you have yet to book a slot, please pop into the office early next week to secure a convenient appointment – however these are now very limited.

Dress Down:  Please remember to bring a bottle in for the Christmas Fayre on Friday in exchange for wearing non-uniform for the day.  The bottle can be anything from bubble bath to wine, they will be used to support the stalls at the Fayre on the 13th December.

Christmas Decorations:  Parents are warmly invited in at 1:30pm next Friday to help the children create some beautiful Christmassy decorations for our school.  Please note the start time has been moved forward to 1:30pm to allow plenty of time to create some fabulous decorations before the sharing assembly.

OTHER ITEMS:

  • Please ensure when dropping your child at school or collecting at the end of the day, that you PARK CONSIDERATELY AND LEGALLY.  Parking on the yellow lines or in the turning circle at the top of the hill is not acceptable.  Blocking driveways or reducing visibility at junctions by parking illegally is also inconsiderate.
  • We have been sharing with you details of events happening in THE RUN UP TO CHRISTMAS.  All dates are on the calendar on the website, and please keep an eye on the weekly newsletter which will detail things coming up over the next fortnight.  Please note the KS1 play and KS2 concert will be performed twice, once during the school day and again in the evening.  Further details will follow once arrangements have been finalised.
  • You should have received the SCHOOL PHOTO PROOF this week.  Please take note of the strict deadline for ordering which is Tuesday 3rd December.  Orders received after this date will be subject to delivery charges.
  • Don’t forget to look on https://www.kidswithbricks.com/voting-page to vote for the builds from LEGO CLUB.
  • Please can we ask if any Woodpecker parents have any WIND CHIMES that we could borrow next week to look at as part of our DT project?  Please bring them in on Monday if possible.
  • The school website hosts a page where the current menu can be located, also on this page we have recently added a file called “IN MY LUNCHBOX” as a reference point for packed lunches and what could be included in them.  Please remember, due to serious allergies, we are a nut-free site – please do not bring nuts in your lunch.
  • Just a reminder for KS1 parents that the LIBRARY is open on Mondays from 3:15 until 3:45 for choosing and changing books.  Please feel free to come along.
  • The next PTA MEETING will be held at The Brook Inn on Tuesday 26th November at 8pm.  Please come along and see how you could get involved with our Victorian themed Christmas Market & Fayre!
  • The PTA have a limited number of packs of CHRISTMAS CARDS available for £1 for a pack of 10 cards from last year’s fundraiser.  Please contact the office or Guy in the playground to get yours.
  • Please note that due to a fabulous response, the PTA CHRISTMAS WREATH NIGHT is now sold out!
  • Please ensure you have read and replied to the CHRISTMAS LUNCH LETTER sent home this week by Monday 9th December – you must reply even if your child is not having the hot meal on this day.
  • Every child has been asked to bring a clean, empty JAM JAR with no labels on, these will be used to produce some fabulous Christmas treats from candles to jam to chutney.  All of which will be available to purchase at the Christmas Fayre.
  • After Christmas we will be in need of a PARENT VOLUNTEER to support the swimming run on a Monday afternoon.  We need someone to assist with supervision of the children whilst travelling on the minibus and during the session.  If you think you may be able to offer some assistance please contact the office.
