Copdock Weekly Update 28/06/19

Newsletter – 28th June 2019

THIS WEEK:

BBQ Style Lunch:  On Monday the children were able to enjoy a midsummer BBQ-style lunch.  These special lunches are a treat for the children but always difficult to administer as we have to order in advance, we would welcome your views on them.

KS1 Structure Meeting:  Thank you to those parents who joined us for the meeting regarding the KS1 structure from September.  We hope you found the session useful, if you’ve since found yourself wondering about any aspect, please do get in touch so that we can answer your queries for you.

School Photos:  The whole school managed some beautiful smiles for their class and whole school photos this week.  Proofcards will be issued next week, orders can also be taken via the website.  Please note the strict deadline for orders will be 10th July for free delivery to school.  You will be able to order after this date but you will be charged delivery.

Singing Workshop:  3 of our Foxes had a trip to EBHS for a singing workshop with Adey Grummet.  This was an amazing opportunity and an event that has really inspired our singers.

Sports Day:  A huge thank you to all the families and friends who supported our sports day this week and to all the children who participated so brilliantly.  I’m sure you’ll agree it was a fabulous day, enjoyed by all.

U9 QuadKids:  As you read this newsletter, some of our Woodpeckers are working hard at QuadKids at Inspire.  We’ll hear more about it in the half termly newsletter coming your way soon!

Coffee & Chat:  Please come along on Friday morning at 9am for the latest in our ‘coffee & chat’ series –we will feed back on the recent survey on communication as well as share curriculum development in PHSE and the coming changes for relationship education.

New Starters Lunches:  Our new starters are joining us for lunch next week as part of their induction, which will make the hall a very bustling place at dinner time.  Most of the orders are in already which is great.  Thank you!

Foxes Swimming:  Those Foxes that are currently on the swimming register will need t-shirts and shorts again next week, as per the email sent home on Monday.

Collection: As of Monday 1st July Woodpecker's parents need to wait for their child on the playground at 3.15pm.  This will ease conjestion on the school pathways.

OTHER ITEMS:

  • Thus far we have raised £60 for the PTA through the selling of bulbs!  A huge thank you to Mrs Russell for bringing them in and suggesting we raise some funds in this way.  Perhaps we can share photos of the beautiful flowers once they are in bloom.
  • Just a gentle reminder that ball games are not to be played on the playground before registration.
  • We have had a new arrivals at school this week in the form of chicks which our hens have hatched.  We have asked the children to give the chickens some space whilst the chicks gets used to life in the copse.
