Bentley Weekly Update 24/05/19

Donuts With Dad - The PTA are pleased to present: Donuts with Dad! As the Mother’s day event was so popular, we thought the dads needed a treat too! Join us on Thursday 13th June in the school hall. The first slot is 2:00-3:00 and the second sot is 3:15-4:15. Please be aware, Adders class are out that afternoon, so please book in the second slot if you have children in Adders class. Other year groups may book in this slot too.

Numbers are limited, so please do let us know if you’d like to book.

Open to all Dads, Grandads, Uncles & Male Role Models. Tickets are £5 each and include entry, cakes, donuts and tea and coffee. The children also receive a cake and cup of squash. Please let us know of any allergies so we can cater for all. We hope to see lots of you there! The PTA team

All Children – All children will need their PE kits in on the first day back please. We will be walking to the field on Tuesday afternoons for PE; children will need to be collected from the field at the end of the day (except for 9th July where they will be at the school).

Adders Online Safety Workshop – Adders will be travelling to Copdock on Thursday 13th June to take part in an online safety workshop with Foxes class. We will be leaving at the end of lunch and will be back by the end of the school day. Pupils will be transported in either the minibus of staff member’s car.

Policy Update – As part of our policy review schedule we have now updated our Equality Action Plan for this year. It can be found on the policy page of our website. We will be inviting parents to join us for consultation on our newly developed Healthy Relationships and Sex Education Policy at our Coffee 'n' Chat in July.

KS2 Football – There are just 2 spaces left for the football after school club that will be held at the field on Tuesdays straight after PE. Please contact us if your child would like to join in. Please see the newsletter from a fortnight ago for the details.

Wolves to Mersea Island – We have heard from Mrs Rudge that they are all having a lovely time on Mersea Island. Look out for pictures on the website soon.

Hedgehogs to Minsmere – Hedgehogs will be visiting the RSPB reserve at Minsmere on Tuesday 9th July, followed by an afternoon on the beach. More details to follow.

Adders to Sutton Hoo – We are planning a class trip to Sutton Hoo for 1st July. More details to follow.

Chicken Move and Grounds Day – A HUGE great thank you to Giles, Spike, Chris, James M, Jennie, Lisa, Sam, Martin, Alison, Craig, Sue, James F, Mel, Ian, Trinity, Bridy, Elise, Sebastian, Kasper, Chloe, Kayleigh-Anne, Nicholas, Charlotte and Isabelle who worked their socks off on Saturday to help build a new run for the chickens and tidy up the grounds. Their efforts have made a massive difference to the appearance of the school and made the chickens very happy. Our thanks go also to Goddard Fencing and Nelson Potter who helped us out with the costs of some of the timber we needed and Maureen who donated a selection of wood to the cause also.

Under 11s Netball – Congratulations to selected pupils from years 5 and 6 who took part in the netball festival this week. We had lovely weather for it and the Bentley team came 3rd in their group! Well done.

Coffee and Chat and Shared Learning – Don’t forget, there is a Coffee and Chat session the first Friday back after half term at 2pm, followed straight after by shared learning in the classrooms. Do come along if you can.

Finally……Wishing you all a peaceful and enjoyable half term break.
