Personal Development

The leadership of our curriculum and personal development is enhanced by the expertise of staff who work in both schools across the federation. This is a strength of our partnership work and being a comitted federation team; our approaches and provision across both schools are the same.

'Leaders ensure that pupils have rich experiences that are beyond their academic learning. This is through the high quality personal, social, heath and economic (PHSE) education. Leaders enable pupils to understand what it means to become a citizen in modern Britain. They provide opportunites for pupils to vote democratically and to compile their own class behaviour charters' (Copdock Ofsted May 2023).

'The school’s ethos is well communicated, and values such as respect, trust and compassion are upheld by pupils and staff alike. Leaders provide strong and effective leadership that is focused on their desire to provide pupils with the best possible opportunities. They are passionate about the benefits that pupils get from attending a small, rural school. However, because of the effective links and shared leadership that they have developed with the other school in the federation, leaders have ensured that pupils benefit from a wider range of opportunities and experiences than they would otherwise get' (Bentley Ofsted November 2018).

Bentley School's Christian Ethos

"Know that I am with you always," Matthew 28:20 We encourage the spiritual, social, moral and cultural development of the school family by embedding Christian values into everyday life. Our vision is for all children to be confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens who are well equipped for future life, knowing that God is with them always.
