How will my child be included in activities outside the classroom?

SEND Offer

How will my child be included in activities outside the classroom?

All pupils are included in all parts of the school curriculum. We aim for all pupils to be included on school trips. We will provide all the necessary support to ensure that it is successful.

The class teacher will meet with the parents/carers before the trip to carefully plan and identify any possible risks or difficulties. A risk assessment is carried out prior to any off site activity to ensure everyone’s health and safety will not be compromised. In an unlikely event that it is considered unsafe for a child to take part in an activity, then alternative activities which will cover the same areas will be provided in school.

How will my child be included in activities inside the classroom?

The class teacher will make every possible arrangement to ensure that every pupil can participate in curriculum activites. This may mean adjusting the physical space or routine, adapting equipment, consideration of support or even meeting parents/carers to discuss how inclusion could best be met. The SENDCo and staff may also seek further advice and support from specialised agencies or professionals about how inclusion could be fully supported.
