Adders Thursday 7th May 2020

Date: 6th May 2020 @ 3:55pm

Good morning everyone!  This is the last day before a three day weekend!  I was in school yesterday with Mrs Lawrance (she says "Hello"!) sorting out the library.  It was nice to also catch up with Dylan, Leia, Eva and Francesca.  I will try to speak to more of the Year 5s today.

This is the learning that I would like you to complete today:

  • Arithmetic Test 20 OR 15 minutes TT Rockstars.
  • Reading – ‘The Water Tower’ comprehension.  Please write your answers using full sentences in your homework book.
  • Maths – Y5: Continue with Statistics from your printed pack; Y6: Continue with Statistics in your Maths Workbook and your printed pack details of these activities are on Monday’s blog;
  • Maths - ED/LW/FD/IF/JL: Classroom Secrets sheets in your printed pack – ‘Perimeter of Rectilinear Shapes’ varied fluency and reasoning + problem solving.  If you have time, complete the Discussion Problems and Extension/Homework.
  • Writing – YOU HAVE TWO ACTIVITIES TO CHOOSE FROM:
  1. Create a newspaper report of the day you were born.  You can include the weather on the day, stories in the news, etc. Can you find any famous people who were born on that day or who share a birthday with you?  Don’t forget to include a suitable headline and to set out your writing like a newspaper.
  2. Using the VE Day Street Party Diary sheet, follow the instructions to write a diary for one of the people in the photograph.  You can write this in your homework book or use the computer.
  • Geography – Birthdays around the World:  Birthdays are celebrated differently in different countries. Write an information report detailing how birthdays are celebrated in the following countries: China, England, Spain, Italy and Mexico. Which country would you like to celebrate your birthday based on your findings? Why?
  • Physical Exercise – any activity that is going to give you 60 minutes of exercise.

Have a good day Adders and don’t forget to email me your learning and upload your photos to the Discussion on the website.
