Good morning, Adders. I hope that you enjoyed the learning from yesterday. Don’t forget there is a new Discussion on the website for this week’s learning. Please make sure you upload your learning on the correct one otherwise it does make it difficult for me to find what you’ve done.
This is the learning that I would like you to complete today:
- Arithmetic Test 18 OR 15 minutes TT Rockstars.
- Reading – ‘A Mother’s Diary’ comprehension. Please write your answers using full sentences in your homework book.
- Grammar – Y5: Pages 24-29 and 60-61 in your printed pack ‘Prepositions’, ‘Linking Ideas’ + ‘Apostrophe Practice; Y6: English Workbook pages 46-51 ‘Colons, Semi-Colons + Dashes, ‘Adding Extra Information’, ‘Hyphens + Bullet Points’ + ‘Mixed Practice’; ED/FD/ED/IF: Pages 50-59 in your printed pack ‘Apostrophes’. As there are quite a few pages to complete, don’t worry if you don’t finish them all in 30 minutes; just complete as many as you can.
- Maths – Y5: Continue with Statistics from your printed pack; Y6: Continue with Statistics in your Maths Workbook and your printed pack – details of these activities are on yesterday’s blog;
Maths - ED/LW/FD/IF/JL: Classroom Secrets sheets in your printed pack – ‘Perimeter on a Grid’ varied fluency and reasoning + problem solving. If you have time, complete the Discussion Problems and Extension/Homework.
- History – The History of VE Day: Using the information in your pack and other websites, find out about what happened on the very first VE Day in 1945. How was it celebrated? Try to find out about how it was celebrated in Bentley and the local area. How was it supposed to be celebrated this year as it is the 75th anniversary? Find out information about today’s proposed celebrations on the website: https://www.veday75.org/. Now produce a poster explaining what you have found out. You could use paper or the computer to present your ideas.
- OPTIONAL EXTENSION: Using all the information that you have found out about VE Day, write a multiple choice quiz to quiz your family. Make sure you know the answers! You could email this to me so I can add some to the blog if you write your quiz on the computer.
- Physical Exercise – any activity that is going to give you 60 minutes of exercise.
