Adders Wednesday 6th May 2020

Date: 5th May 2020 @ 2:14pm

Hello Adders!  Thank you to those of you who have emailed me your learning (or asked your parents to) and posted photos on this week’s Discussion on the website.  I’ve really liked your ideas for the VE Celebration on Friday.

This is the learning that I would like you to complete today:

  • Arithmetic Test 19 OR 15 minutes TT Rockstars.
  • Reading – ‘Evacuee Letter’ comprehension.  Please write your answers using full sentences in your homework book.
  • Spellings/Vocabulary – Y5: Pages 80-85 in your printed pack ‘Word Endings – ‘ance’, ‘ancy’, ‘ence’ + ‘ency’, ‘Word Endings – ‘able’, ‘ible’, ‘ably’ + ‘ibly’ and ‘Suffixes’;       Y6: English Workbook pages 52-57 ‘Vocabulary’; ED/FD/ED/IF: Pages 80-87 in your printed pack ‘Suffixes – ‘ly’, ‘Word Endings ‘sure’ + ‘ture’, ‘Word Endings – the ‘shun’ sound’ and ‘Word Endings ‘gue’ + ‘que’.  As there are quite a few pages to complete, don’t worry if you don’t finish them all in 30 minutes; just complete as many as you can.
  • Maths – Y5: Continue with Statistics from your printed pack; Y6: Continue with Statistics in your Maths Workbook and your printed pack details of these activities are on Monday’s blog;
  • Maths - ED/LW/FD/IF/JL: Classroom Secrets sheets in your printed pack – ‘Perimeter of a Rectangle’ varied fluency and reasoning + problem solving.  If you have time, complete the Discussion Problems and Extension/Homework.
  • Design Technology – Time to Design: Can you imagine your perfect VE Day celebration outfit? What would it look like? What would it be made from? How comfortable would it need to be? Design a costume for this celebration, thinking about the patterns and colours you would like to incorporate on your design. Make sure you include a labelled diagram of your costume and take a photo to email to me or put on the Discussion.
  • Physical Exercise – any activity that is going to give you 60 minutes of exercise.

Have a good day Adders and don’t forget to email me your learning and upload your photos to the Discussion on the website.
