Bentley Weekly Update 12/07/19

Whole School Picnic – As a celebration of all the hard work the children have put into their learning this year, we are planning a whole school treat day on Monday 22nd July. We will be walking to the field after morning registration to play some games and have a picnic. Children do not need to wear uniform on this day. All children will need a packed lunch and drinks bottle, as well as the usual weather appropriate protection. We will be back at school mid-afternoon for the Brain Sticker Reward activity. Drop off and pick up will be as normal on the day.

Wolves to Church – Wolves class will be deepening their learning on the topic of baptism next week, with a trip to the church to watch a mock baptism performed by the lovely Mrs Mehen. We will be transporting them on the mini-bus on Monday morning; they will be back before lunch. This trip is covered by the visits permission form you completed at the start of the year.

Year 4 Rocket Science Day – Just a reminder that Year 4 will be travelling to East Bergholt High School to take part in the annual Rocket Science Day on Tuesday. These children will need a packed lunch and drinks bottle.

Adders to Pleasurewood HillsChange of spending money allowed – After speaking to the children, we have agreed that each child can bring a maximum of £10 spending money on this trip if they choose to. This is to allow them to purchase a photo or a keyring on the day that the original £5 would just not cover. Please refer to the letter that was sent home about the other details of this trip. It is an annual visit that the children always look forward to and we hope you all have a lovely day.

Bags in on Friday – Please send you child in with a named, strong bag on Friday for them to be able to bring their books home. Thank you.

Fines for Missing Items – Fines for non-returned library books and maths bags will be sent home next week. To avoid these, please return any outstanding maths bags and library books by Monday morning. Thank you.

Can You Help With Chickens? – As in previous years, we are asking for volunteers to help with the chickens over the summer holiday. If you are able to help us out at all please sign up on the sheet that chicken crew will be going round with next week. Thank you.

Recycling and Art Project Autumn Term - Please could each family collect the following CLEAN and DRY items over the summer ready for next term:

Plastic bottle lids (any size or colour), sweet wrappers e.g. Quality Street, plastic straws, fruit net bags, yoghurt pots, 2 litre fizzy drink bottles, plastic cutlery.
