Last Chance to Book Special Lunch – This coming Monday (17^th June) is the deadline for ordering children’s lunches for the special Summer Madness BBQ lunch we are having on the 24^th June. Please refer to the email sent home on Monday. Please note, this special menu replaces the normal menu for this day, so we need parents to order their child’s choices if they would like a hot meal on this day, otherwise they will need to bring in a packed lunch. 

Dress in Blue For The Blue Cross – We are looking forward to a veritable sea of blue on Monday, as children are invited to come to school in non-school uniform, wearing something blue, in return for a £1 donation to go to the Blue Cross Charity later this half term when they come in for a special assembly. There will also be animal face painting available on Monday for an additional £1 each. As ever, these are completely optional and if your child would rather wear uniform that is fine. 

Quick Cricket – 10 children from Adders Class will be representing the school at a cricket competition being held at St Joseph’s on Tuesday. Those children taking part will need a packed lunch and drinks. Good luck to those children participating. 

Crucial Crew – Adders class will be travelling to Stowmarket on Wednesday to take part in Crucial Crew. This is an exciting and interactive session, teaching children about what to do in an emergency and how to keep safe. All children in Adders will need a packed lunch on this day as well as drinks.  

Bikeability – 12 children from Adders class will be taking part in Bikeability training next week; this is a 2 week course on cycling safety (what some of us older and wiser folks called Cycling Proficiency). Those children who have been given a place have been notified.  

Year 1 / 2 Spellings and Homework – Please support your child to practise their spellings and complete their homework. Spelling tests and homework checks are both on Thursdays. Thank you. 

Leavers’ BBQ – Please note, the time for the Leavers’ BBQ this year has been changed back to the original 6-8pm instead of the 5-7pm previously advised. This is always a lovely event and everybody is welcome!!! 

The Great Pet Service Competition – Children are invited to write a poem about their favourite pet, or a short story about a pet they would like to have and why, or a prayer about our animals. It needs to be brought into school by Friday 28^th June please. All work submitted will be displayed in the church and there will be a small prize each for the authors of pieces read out during the service. Winning children are warmly invited to come along to the service and read their piece but there is no obligation. The Pet Service itself will be held on Sunday 7^th July at 10am. All (well behaved) feathered, furry or even slippery friends are very welcome to come along with (well behaved) owners!
