Welcome to the fourth week of this half term. This week's timetable can be accessed HERE.
You will need to wear your PE kit on MONDAY AND TUESDAY as you have PE on Monday with Ben in the morning and with me in the afternoon with Hedgehogs; some of you are taking place in the dodgeball tournament on Tuesday and the rest are staying at Copdock for PE, so you need to wear your PE kit for this. Please make sure that ALL uniform is named (especially PE jumpers).
On TUESDAY, we will be travelling to Copdock on the minibus with Mrs Lawrance just before playtime so 8 of you can attend the dodgeball tournament (please make sure you have a packed lunch and a drink). The remaining 3 of you will join Foxes for PE with Ben and then I will teach you in the afternoon until the children in the tournament return. We will then travel back to Bentley at about 1.30-1.45pm.
Please bring into school your clarinet on THURSDAY and make sure you are practising the songs we have learnt at home.
On FRIDAY, it is Comic Relief Red Nose Day. You can come dressed in red for a donation of £1.
The learning behaviour this week is 'Push Yourself' and our value this half term is 'Justice'. Our words this week are: 'chamber' and 'ventricle'.
Our homework day is FRIDAY. This week's homework (to be given out on FRIDAY 21st MARCH 2025) is:
- Maths: Fractions of amounts.
- Writing: Please watch this VIDEO explaining verb complex sentence (from 4mins 24 seconds to 6mins 53 seconds). The images for each sentence type are also below. I would like you to write five sentences about the picture of the human heart (shown below). The task will be explained in detail in your homework book. You must write using black handwriting pen and make sure that your presentation is of a high standard (clearly written handwriting and correct spellings).
- Spelling Sheet - Homophones.
- Practise the fourth column of the Year 5/6 Common Exception Words and your personal spellings.
- Use TTRockstars to practise your times tables - you MUST know these!! If you don't, you need to go on here EVERYDAY.
- Read for Pleasure at least FIVE times this week and record this in your Log Book for our Reading Giants challenge. Ask a grown up to sign your book.
