PSHE curriculum
Our PSHE curriculum is integral to our curriculum and lays the foundations for our medium-term planning. Our curriculum is underpinned by a core emphasis on the effective development of personal, social, health and emotional skills. We believe explicit teaching of these skills will support our children to be confident in their learning approaches, applied strategies and communication with others. This will develop mutual respect and acceptance of others.
We follow the Cambridgeshire Units of work across a 2-year cycle and link these with our Values for each term.
Please see the links below to access the overviews for the PSHE Cambridgeshire Units that are followed by each Key Stage.
Our PSHCE topic structure does not separate delivery of Relationships Education from Health Education and wider PSHCE. We deliver topics which, taking the lead from children’s lived experiences, consider related themes including development of knowledge, skills and attitudes in an integrated way. The topics where Relationships Education is a significant driver are:
-
Anti-bullying
-
Digital Lifestyles
-
Diversity and Communities
-
Family and Friends
-
Managing Change
-
My Emotions
-
Personal Safety
-
Relationships and Sex Education
Please find below the PSHE Cambridgeshire scheme frameworks for each key stage. These map out the units and show the progression across the years. They also show the links to RSE and Health Education.
