Welcome to the third week of term.
This week's timetable can be accessed HERE.
You will need to wear your PE kit on MONDAY and TUESDAY this week for PE; Ben will teach you on Monday and I will teach you on Tuesday. Please make sure that ALL uniform is named (especially PE jumpers).
I am out of class on WEDNESDAY this week. Mrs Atkins will be teaching you that day.
There is NO clarinet on THURSDAY. Please make sure you are practising the notes we have learnt at home.
Please have a conversation with your grown ups at home about finance and savings accounts as we have discussed in PSHE. Find out if you have a savings account and how it works.
The learning behaviour this week is 'Work Hard' and our value this half term is 'Perseverance'. Our words this week are: 'deteriorate' and 'sanctuary'.
Our homework day is FRIDAY. This week's homework (to be given out on FRIDAY 24th JANUARY 2025) is:
- Maths: Adding Fractions.
- Writing: Please watch this VIDEO explaining subordinating complex sentence (from 4mins 24 seconds to 5mins 55 seconds). The images for each sentence type are also below. I would like you to write five sentences about the picture of Mount Olympus (shown below). The task will be explained in detail in your homework book. You must write using black handwriting pen and make sure that your presentation is of a high standard (clearly written handwriting and correct spellings).
- Spelling Sheet - Y5/6 Common Exception Words.
- Practise the third column of the Year 5/6 Common Exception Words.
- Use TTRockstars to practise your times tables - you MUST know these!! If you don't, you need to go on here EVERYDAY.
- Read for Pleasure at least FIVE times this week and record this in your Log Book for our Reading Giants challenge. Ask a grown up to sign your book.
