Welcome to the fifth week of this half term. This week's timetable can be accessed HERE.
You will need to wear your PE kit on MONDAY as you have PE on Monday with Ben in the morning and with me in the afternoon with Hedgehogs. Please make sure that ALL uniform is named (especially PE jumpers).
It is Worship Group on MONDAY.
Parents' Evening is on WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY this week. You need to attend the meeting with your parents/carers as you will be talking about your learning successes.
Please bring into school your clarinet on THURSDAY and make sure you are practising the songs we have learnt at home. We will be performing a mini concert to parents at 2.45pm.
On FRIDAY, the PTA are running a Mother's Day Afternoon Tea that your grown-ups need to sign up for.
The learning behaviour this week is 'Don't give up' and our value this half term is 'Justice'. Our words this week are: 'distribute' and 'consumption'.
Year 6. you have been given your SATs homework folder with your home learning for the next four weeks, including the Easter Holidays. At the front of your folder is a timetable with which work you need to complete during each week. Your first set of learning needs to be completed and brought into school on MONDAY 31st MARCH so we can mark it in class.
Our homework day is FRIDAY. This week's homework for Y5 only (to be given out on FRIDAY 28th MARCH 2025) is:
- Maths: Decimals.
- Writing: Please watch this VIDEO explaining verb complex sentence (from 4mins 24 seconds to 6mins 53 seconds). The images for each sentence type are also below. I would like you to write five sentences about the picture of the cliff-side road (shown below). The task will be explained in detail in your homework book. You must write using black handwriting pen and make sure that your presentation is of a high standard (clearly written handwriting and correct spellings).
- Spelling Sheet - Homophones.
- Practise the fourth column of the Year 5/6 Common Exception Words and your personal spellings.
- Use TTRockstars to practise your times tables - you MUST know these!! If you don't, you need to go on here EVERYDAY.
- Read for Pleasure at least FIVE times this week and record this in your Log Book for our Reading Giants challenge. Ask a grown up to sign your book.
