Adders Friday 15th May 2020
Date: 14th May 2020 @ 3:08pm
It’s Friday Adders! We’ve nearly survived another week of home schooling – well done! Thank you to everyone who has been emailing me their learning – I hope that you have enjoyed this week’s tasks and aren’t finding it too hard to get motivated. Remember, it doesn’t matter if you haven’t finished everything; just try to keep practising those reading, writing and maths skills so it’s not such a shock to you when we finally return to school.
Please upload a photo on to the Discussion, or email me directly, of your Log Book with your reading for this week so I can add stickers on to the Reading Challenge chart. I have only received a small handful of photos of this.
This is the learning that I would like you to complete today:
- Vocabulary Word Mat. Choose one or two of the following words to find out about and record on the sheet in your printed pack: vigorously, perplexed, conspiracy, tentatively. If you haven’t got any sheets left, draw one out in your homework book.
- Maths – Y5: Continue with Consolidation Activities from your printed pack; Y6: Continue with Algebra activities in your printed pack – details of these activities are on Monday’s blog;
- Maths – ED/LW/FD/IF/JL: Classroom Secrets sheets – Geometry: Properties of Shapes. Today and tomorrow, you need to complete the Extension/Homework and Discussion Problems (JL, you don’t have these) sheets for the last three topics covered this week: ‘Identify Angles’, ‘Compare and Order Angles’ and ‘Triangles’.
- Writing – Children should only be allowed to watch TV/YouTube/ Netflix for one hour a day. Do you agree/disagree? Write a discussion about this statement. Make sure you state at the end which side of the argument that you agree with. Please write using full sentences rather than using bullet points. Try to write a paragraph for the introduction, each side of the argument and your conclusion.
- Geography – Mapping Skills: Identify the countries or cities within the UK where your family members originate from or live. Plot these on the A3 map in your pack and then create a bar chart to show the number of family members who live/lived in each city/country/continent.
- Physical Exercise – any activity that is going to give you 60 minutes of exercise.
Have a good day Adders and don’t forget to email me your learning and upload your photos to the Discussion on the website.
