Hedgehogs Friday 3rd April/ Easter Holidays
Date: 3rd Apr 2020 @ 7:40am
Good Morning Everyone J
Please have a look at the ideas for today and over the Easter holiday. Try to keep active as possible and read lots.
You can always go back and do the Joe Wicks PE lessons to keep moving.
Just type 'PE with Joe' into YouTube search to find it.
Remember, keeping active is one of the best ways to keep feeling positive!
- English activity:
Try to find some time to write your persuasive leaflet about visiting Spain. Thinking about all you have learnt and your recent research, can you answer the question - ‘Why do so many people go to the Mediterranean for their holidays?’ Imagine you are from the tourist board and you are trying to get as many people as you can to visit. Remember to keep everything positive and enthusiastic.
See if you can include information in your leaflet about the culture, the food, things you can do there, traditional festivals, the climate and other fun facts. You might also want to include an introduction giving an overview of where Spain is, its capital city and the population.
Remember to include some persuasive features and make it eye-catching too – I can‘t wait to see what you have come up with!
- Emotive (feeling words) and exciting adjectives:
E.g. exercise is fantastic for your health and super fun!
- Alliteration (words beginning with the same letter):
E.g. Happy, healthy humans!
- Addressing the reader directly (using ‘you’):
E.g. You don’t want to miss out!
- Rhetorical questions (questions that get the reader thinking):
E.g. Do you eat enough fruit and vegetables?
- Maths Actvities:
TTRs – have a go in the Studio to set your Rock Speed and also try to complete some Sound Checks. I have now set the tables so the Garage should also be more of a challenge for some of you.
Another website with free games you may want to investigate is below. Just select which area you wish to explore under the category tab and you will find plenty of games to challenge you!

- Other activities:
- Why not try and design your own Joe Wicks style PE lesson? Have a look through the videos and choose 3 moves to start your warm up. Then find your favourite 10 workouts you can do for 30 seconds each with a 30 second gap in between. Rest for 2 minutes and then repeat. Don’t forget to add a cool down too!
Write down your instructions and then get moving! See if you can get the whole family involved!
- Just like yesterday, you can also spend some time doing some Easter related activities. Can you make your Easter bonnet hat, design an Easter game, make an Easter card or even an Easter Scavenger hunt?
Aloso, take a look at the images below to give you even more ideas for the holiday.
Have fun and have a Happy Easter!
