For the second part of this week, we are going to be focusing on persuasive features.
Today you will be planning to write a persuasive leaflet about visiting Spain. Thinking about all you have learnt and your recent research, can you answer the question - ‘Why do so many people go to the Mediterranean for their holidays?’ Try to imagine you are from the tourist board and you are trying to get as many people as you can to visit. Remember to keep everything positive and enthusiastic.
See if you can include information in your leaflet about the culture, the food, things you can do there, traditional festivals, the climate and other fun facts. You might also want to include an introduction giving an overview of where Spain is, its capital city and the population.
Draw yourself a bubble plan (top middle) to group your information and help guide you in your writing. Make notes on what there is and then the reasons why they should go because of that.
(Time to take a break and have some fun!)
- Maths Task:
20 minutes on TTRs – have a go in the Studio to set your Rock Speed today and also try to complete at least one Sound Check. I have now set the tables so the Garage should also be more of a challenge for some of you.
Another website with free games you may want to investigate. Just select which area you wish to explore under the category tab and you will find plenty of games to challenge you!

Please complete the questions in your maths homework book.
Year 3 – pg. 16 - 17
Year 4 – pg. 16 – 17
Year 4 – Remember to bump the numbers up and down the columns to multiply and divide by 10 and 100. They may go into decimal numbers too! Just follow the pattern and draw yourself a place value grid like the one below. Slide all the numbers down once when dividing by 10 and twice when dividing by 100. (Remember only a decimal point can go in the decimal point column and fill in those gaps with an empty place holder - 0)
Examples:
6 x 10 = 60 (6 tens, 0 ones)
6 x 100 = 600 (6 hundreds, 0 tens, 0 ones)
6 ÷ 10 = 0.6 (0 ones, 6 tenths)
6 ÷ 100 = 0.06 (0 ones, 0 tenths, 6 hundredths)
23 x 10 = 230 (2 hundreds. 3 tens, 0 ones)
23 x 100 = 2300 (2 thousands, 3 hundreds, 0 tens, 0 ones)
23 ÷ 10 = 2.3 (2 ones, 3 tenths)
23 ÷ 100 = 0.23 (0 ones, 2 tenths, 3 hundredths)
(Now make sure you have had a play and something for lunch. What jobs around the house can you help with today?)
- Afternoon Creative task:
It is almost Easter! Can you make your Easter bonnet hat, design an Easter game, make an Easter card or even an Easter Scavenger hunt? Have a look at the images below to get you started!
(Now it’s time to be active and get as much fresh air as you can. Maybe you could go for a walk or cycle with your family? Or make up a dance to a favourite song. Just make sure you stay safe!)
Please share what you have created or written today on this blog and don’t forget to ask for help if you need it!
Have fun!
