Kittens 15.3.21

Date: 14th Mar 2021 @ 12:55pm

Good morning Kittens!

Welcome to a new week. This week's learning behaviour is 'push yourself'.

Remember, you have PE on Tuesday afternoon this week so please come into school in your PE kit on Tuesday, not Monday. On Monday, please wear your school uniform.

This week in Literacy, we are continuing to learn the story of Jack and the Beanstalk to help us retell it for ourselves.

In the afternoons, we will be developing our art skills to create our own fire images following on from our learning on the Great Fire of London.

Remember, our reading challenge continues. Read 5 times a week over 10 weeks to receive your certificate! Good luck!

Year 1 Homework:

I have now issued you a homework book. This is in your reading folder today. Please complete the tasks set each night. I will add details here daily. I will check homework books on a Friday to issue brain stickers for all completed tasks!

Monday: Revisit the different ways of making ai by reading the words. I have added new spot word keyrings for you to practice less familiar words. Practice counting forwards and backwards along the number lines.

Tuesday: Read the words on Tuesday's phonic word wall. Practice counting forwards and backwards along the number lines.

Wednesday: Read the words on Wednesday's phonic word wall. Find 1 more than a number between 1-50. Use the tens and one rods to help you. This clip may also help you.

Reception Homework:

I have added a sheet to let your grown-ups know those sounds you are less familiar with. Please practice these using the new flashcards I have given you.

I have also given you new spot word keyrings to help you practice less familiar words. I will issue new tricky word sheets at the end of the week.

Please complete this Maths activity during the week - click here. I would love to see photos of your learning uploaded on Tapestry.

In Maths, we will be thinking about doubles up to 5+5. You might like to use this song to help you practice learning these off by heart.

I know we are going to have a great week!

Best wishes,

Mr Ross smiley
