Hello Reception and Year 1,

I hope you had a nice weekend.

Christmas has started!   This week, we will be beginning to get ready for our Christmas performance.  Unfortunately, due to guidance from the LA we are unable to have our annual decoration making afternoon.  However, I will be providing a bauble shape, tissue paper and glue for you to make a Christmes decoration at home with your grown up instead.  All you will need to do is tear tiny pieces of tissue paper and stick them on to the shape both sides, trying not to leave any gaps.  This is a collage technique and is also good for developing our fine motor control which we need for holding a pencil and writing.  I will give these packs out this week so look out for these coming home.  More information will be included in the pack. If you're feeling crafty and creative, then please feel free to make more decorations at home for our hall.

Mrs Witherall is looking forward to seeing Recetion parents remotely for parent consultations while I look forward to seeing Year 1 parents.

In our learning, we will be continuing to learn about materials as part of our science while thinking about feelings in PHSE. In maths, we will start a new unit of learning about shapes.  The Reception children have been doing lots of mark making which is the early steps to writing and this is fantastic!  They are learning how to be authors!!

Year 1 will be starting a new unit of writing linked to a text called The Train Ride.

Remember to look at last week's blog for homework set on Friday and  due this Friday.  Have a great week!
