Hi Kittens!

I have had a fantastic week being back in Kittens class.  I enjoyed it so much this afternoon, I forgot to give out homework books! Please accept my apologies and I'll give them out on Monday.

I have started Year 1 with 5 spellings this week which are: down, the, right, my, hear. Spelling test will be on Friday of next week in the back of the homework book so you can see how well your child did. 

Reading challenge

Year 1 - in Year 1 children need to be reading to their adults 5 times a week.

Reception - Children need to be reading to their adults 3 times each week ( at this stage, this is talking about the pictures and telling stories using the pictures). 2 reads can be counted as adults reading to children, making up the 5 reads. 

Reception and Year 1 have phonic sheets stuck in homework books. You can chunk these up and do a section each evening or complete it as one activity - whatever works for you.
