Wolves 28.6.21
Date: 25th Jun 2021 @ 3:12pm
Welcome to a new week of learning. This week we are trying not to give up.
We will be practising our fact families in maths and writing + and - number sentences to connect 3 numbers e.g. 4, 6 and 10. We will be using equipment, empty number lines and 100 squares to add and subtract larger numbers.
In Writing we will be planning our own adventure with Plop the owl, who is no longer afraid of the dark.
In science we will be identifying trees and seeign what they need to grow and naming the parts of a tree. If you have any trees in your garden or at the park, can you teach your child to identify them from the leaves? Can they find an evergreen tree and a deciduous tree?
On Monday, Miss Barton is taking the class and she will be looking at what our wonderful bodies can do - if you have any body books or body facts, send them in on Monday please.
In RE we will be learning about Shabbat which Jews celebrate every Friday night.
We will be finding out about the First Olympic Games and preparing a display about Australia, which is our Olympic country. I was lucky enough to run with the Olympic Torch in 2012 when London hosted the Olympics - before the children were born! The children will get the chance to parade with the torch at our Sports Day. Please read the letter carefully to ensure you follow the procedures to keep us all safe.
We are collecting boxes, string, cardboard tubes etc to make our playground equipment next week, well done Tom for collecting his already!
This Friday will be our last spelling test, and we will keep keywords going and reading sticker until the end of term.
