Dear parents,
This week, in Wolves, we are continuing our topic of living things, by discovering at what plants and animals live in our local environment. In geography, we will becomparing the capital cities of Nairobi and London, having looked at similarities, we will now focus on different features of each city. In RE we are looking the Torah and the story of Moses. In PSHE, we are talking about staying and keeping safe.
In Year 1 and 2 English we will finish writing about Safari animals for our travel journal writing, and begin to plan our own travel journal, based on a trip to London.
In mathematics, Year 1 and Year 2 will be continuing with the topic of fractions; Year 1 focussing on quarters and the equivalence of 2/4 and 1/2. whilst also revising addition and subtraction facts. Year 2 will be focussing on finding quarters, three quarters and thirds of shapes and objects.
Reception children will start working from the book Handa's Surprise, for their English work, retelling the story in their own words. In maths, reception children will exploring in depth the relationship between addition and subtraction, and develop their spatial awareness problem solving when making shapes.
Our learning behaviour of the week is 'Hae a go on your Own - Push yourself' and our value is 'Friendship'.
