Woodpeckers- Monday 4th May

Date: 2nd May 2020 @ 10:16am

Good Morning Woodpeckers and Happy Monday to you all!

Hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready for the week ahead.

This weeks theme is based around Celebrations and I have added the Weekly Discussion page for you to add comments and examples of your learning. Thank you again to those of you who have taken the time to add these comments as it has been wonderful to read and to see some of your work. Also thank you for the emails that have been sent with attached work.

Friday is bank holiday so we would like to say that the learning for that day is optional. It is also VE Day on Friday. It will be 75 years since the the end of the Second World War in Europe.

The following link has some really interesting facts and images about VE Day that I would like you to watch.

I would like to add that since speaking to a number of parents on the phone it is really clear that you are all trying so hard with your home learning and Mrs North and I are very proud of you all. It is a very different learning situation at the moment but you are all rising to the challenge and we are so pleased. The learning packs that Mrs North and I compiled together are very comprehensive and give you more than enough work to keep you busy. However we are also very aware that you all have different situations at home so please do not worry if you do not get every single piece of learning completed in the day. As long as you are keeping up with your key skills- Reading, Maths and Writing each day then this is great. Obviously we would be very pleased to see you complete all the daily activities (as a lot of you are) but if for any reason on the odd day you don't get finished then do not worry or let if affect your attitude to learning for the rest of the week.

Please find attached the daily answers for today and the Week 3 Celebrations cover sheet for your reference. Todays learning follows the same pattern with your maths linked to the White Rose and your Reading Comprehensions included within your pack.

Please make sure that you are watching the short video clip on the White Rose website as this will really support your learning in Maths and gives you the information and 'teaching' needed to help you complete the worksheets.

Enjoy your Monday and I will be looking to see any comments attached to the discussion page throughout the day.

Miss you all!
