Daily belongings needed in school: water bottle, planners, book bag, coat and a smile!
Homework
Reading Giants - Read at least 5 times each week and record it in the planner. Please note - the planner needs to be in school on Friday as past reads will not be recorded on our chart (except holidays).
Times Tables - Log on to TT Rock Stars, Ms jordan has set up a competition. Log in details are in the front of your planners.
Writing - In your homework book, write 1 simple sentence, 1 compound sentence and 2 complex (middle) sentences. A complex sentence is a simple sentence with an extra piece of information (relative clause) which relates to the noun or subject and before the main verb. We use commas to separate the clause.
The man licked his lips is a simple sentence. The man , who rubbed his stomach, licked his lips. who rubbed his stomach is the relative clause.
Use the sad or excited emotion sheets stuck in your homework book. Practise writing your letters starting on the high monkey branch or the low monkey branch. Remember, try not to use incoming flicks and try not to join, just think about where each letter starts and print. A sheet has been stuck in your book for you.
If your adult would like to know more about the sentences we are learning in school and have for home learning, please check out the writing video on the Curriculum tab-How parents can support the curriculum. If your grown up would like to find out more about our new handwriting programme, please join Miss Cross for coffee & chat in the hall after half term.
Spelling - Spelling sheet is stuck in your homework book. Miss Cross has also given you your common exception words. They have been marked with a tick if they were spelt correctly, blank if incorrect.. If they are not ticked please work on these at home, a few at a time and there will be another test after half term. Please don't panic and think these all have to be completed at once. Children need to be able to confidently spell these by the end of Year 4. Copies of words can be found on our class page.
If you would like to do extra homework, please log on to Curriculum Visions and find out more about the Stone Age and Rocks.
Have a great week! Any questions please speak to us.
Miss Cross and Mrs Jordan
