Woodpeckers 06.09.21

Date: 6th Sep 2021 @ 9:02am

Hello!  Welcome to Woodpeckers and our first week of learning.

The children had a great day on Friday, learning about growth mindset, our school vision and safeguarding.  There is a growth mindset sheet for parents stuck in the back of their dairies for you to use at home too.

This week we are beginning to learn about poetry and our topic is about what Suffolk was like 150 years ago.  If you have any resources at home that link to this and could be shared please see Miss Cross.

PE and swimming will be on Mondays and Tuesdays so please come dressed in PE kit these days.

By the end of this week we will ensure children have reading books, know their number challenge and will start homework.

We will put a new blog up every Friday which will have messages and homework so please check this.  Don't worry if  it is not posted immediately as sometimes Miss Cross may have to deal with other things but it will be done even if a  little later.

Have a good week,

Heidi & Laura

Homework  to be completed by next Friday (17th)

-Read at least 5 times and date it in the diary-we are starting the reading challenge.

-We will have a weekly number challenge and aim to start this next week.

-Read & sign the home school agreement together and talk about this.  A brain sticker & raffle ticket if you do it for Monday (see weekly news).

-Spellings - 10 spellings, your child may have 10 dge words or  5 dge words and 5 ou words. They are stuck in the homework book.

-Reading - google Curricuulum Visions ; Click on geography tab, then Roadtrip Places, scroll down the UK map and click on Norwich. Click on the Great British Seaside SE England and flick to page 114.  Read from here to page 130.  This is an important part of your child's learning about our Suffolk study and will support them in class.  Please see the newsletter for the log in details.

Remember to check for the new Blog about next week's learning on Monday.  Have a good weekend.
