Important Information to Share

The Big Walk and Wheel week
The school has signed up to 'The Big Walk and Wheel' which runs from the 24th March to 4th April. This is to encourage as many children as possible to walk, scoot, wheelchair or cycle to school. During the week, a score of how many children travelled to school in one of these ways. If you live further than walking distance then parking at the top of the road and walking down means are you eligible! Once our score are submitted each morning, the school will be entered into a draw to win prizes for the school such as bikes, scooters and skateboarding equipment. We hope you will join us for this fantastic event!
 

Adders Dodgeball

U11 dodgeball tournament at Inspire Suffolk on Tuesday 18th March during the school day.  Parents have already been contacted if your child is attending.  Please ensure your child comes into school in their PE kit with water and a packed lunch.  The children will be transported in the school mini bus and leave mid morning returning after lunch.

Year 2 Drama

Next Thursday drama students from Ipswich School are at Copdock Primary school to share the performance they have developed following their visit to us last term.  Year 2 pupils from across the Federation are looking forward to seeing what they've come up with. They will be transported over the Copdock by minibus, please collect your Year 2 child from Copdock at the end of the day.

PTA Mother’s Day afternoon tea -Friday 28th March.  

All special ladies are invited to join us at school for afternoon tea , your child / children will join you 🧁🍰🫖☕️

You must pre book - the cost is £5 which includes a hot drink & selection of yummy cakes , children are free and get a drink & cake too.

There are two time slots  - 2:30 to 2:55 and 3:05 to 3:30

To book please comment on Facebook post  or email school office  , please say how many children you have at school so it’s easier to work out numbers for each time slot. There is a limited amount of space in the school hall so younger siblings are more than welcome too but must be on laps and due to limited space in hall no pushchairs please.

REMINDERS!!!!

Lunch and Morning Club payments - Please ensure that all payments are paid weekly as taken - thank you for your support

Parent Consultation Evenings - Parent Consultation evenings are on Wednesday 26th March 5.00 - 7.00pm and Thursday 27th March 3.30 - 5.30pm. The booking system will open on the website on Monday morning and close at mid-day Monday 24th March.  Please log onto the website to book your slot.  As always, we ask that you stick to the allotted times and if you feel you might need longer, please contact the office.  If you cannot make either session please do let us know.  We do ask that just one slot is booked per child please.  If you have any issues logging into the website, please let us know as soon as possible.

Reception children and Forest School Friday - Please note that Reception children will not be going across to Copdock on Friday 14th March or Friday 4th April.
 
School grounds help  - We are looking to start growing some seeds in the 'boat' in the grounds of the school so children can see the plants growing, hopefully into fruit and vegetables that they can eat.  We would really appreciate some parent help to dig over, and weed the soil in the boat please.  If anyone is able to offer some time please could you let the office know. Thank you for your support.
 

Red Nose Day - Comic Relief - Friday 21st MarchWe will be supporting this day by inviting children to "wear something red" in return for a donation of £1 for this worthwhile cause.

Easter Service - A reminder of our Easter Service including our traditional Easter Bonnet Parade which will be held on Thursday 3rd April at 8.45am at the Church. Get your creative thinking caps on to create a beautiful bonnet for your child to wear to the service.  Children should be dropped off at Church from 8.40am where they will be met by staff (no earlier please). Families are welcome to join us.  Please park in the car park.  If you are not staying for the service, please drop your child and carry on along the lane to prevent traffic disruption by turning round.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
