Important Information to Share

Christmas Dinner - we will be hosting our Christmas dinner on Wednesday 11th December.  Please note this needed to be pre-ordered, so if you haven't ordered a dinner, you will need to send a packed lunch in as no menu items will be available to order on the day.  Children are invited into school wearing a Christmas jumper over their uniform.
 
Swimming - it is the last swimming on Monday.  This will recommence in January.
 
Clubs - all of our clubs finish next week - there will be none in the last week of term to make way for our performances.  Keep an eye on the end of term newsletter for details of clubs taking place in the spring term and how to sign up.
 
Kinetic Letters handwriting
Following our coffee and chat about the new handwriting scheme we have introduced, we have now set up a new page on the website for you to access information and resources. Videos will be added here in the next few weeks to support you at home.In the meantime, the information shared at the session is now available, alongside resources that can also be purchased. Due to copyright, this page has a simple password - HW.
 
Epiphany Service 8th January
We will be celebrating Epiphany at St Mary's Church on Wednesday 8th January. Parents are warmly invited to join us as we celebrate the arrival of the Kings following Jesus' birth. In preparation, the children will be making crowns before the end of term. Worship group will be finalising the details and would like a few parents to support the delivery of the service too. If you are interested, please let us know by the end of next week so we can send you some information. We will be singing some traditional carols as part of this service, including We Threee Kings and Away in a Manger. We hope you can join us.
Children will need to be dropped at the church for the usual time of 8.45am.
 
Inhalers - Please complete the attached Asthma form and return to the school office if your child uses an inhaler, even if they haven't been diagnosed with asthma.  The school is completing an inhaler check for pupils.

Coats - Please ensure thall all children are wearing a named coat now that the weather is turning colder!
 
Worship Group is being held on Monday lunchtime
 
Christmas performance
Reminder to complete the survey regarding tickets by next Tuesday please. If you have not completed the survey we will assume that you will not require tickets for the performances and issue extras to other families.
 
Friday 13th December 2pm - Adders adults welcome  to come into school and spend time with their child to find out more about their healthy living learning.
 
Reminder of Christingle Service at Bentley Church on Sunday 8th December, flyer attached.
 
Also on Sunday 8th is the joint PTA Santa Run on Bentley Playing Field (next to The Case is Altered Public House) with the run starting at 12pm.

There will be two runs:
1km - open to all ages (children must be supervised at all times)
3km - open to all over the age of 8 (children must be supervised at all times)  All runners will recieve a medal and goodie bag upon completion 🏅 The Case is Altered Public House will be open for drinks afterwards where we will be selling raffle tickets for our Christmas Fayre raffle 🎄

Competition Winners
Last term, as part of Tuesday after school club, the children had the option to take part in a competition run by Young Artists. If your child had a permission letter sent home last week, please ensure that you return this to the company detailed on the letter.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!

Tuesdays - 3.15 - 4.15pm  - Activity Club (12th Nov - 10th Dec)

Fridays - 8am - Friday morning Christmas Craft Club - please ensure children have their breakfast before attending.

Sunday 8th December - Copdock and Bentley PTA Santa Run

Monday 9th December - last swimming lesson for Yr 3/4

Wednesday 11th December - Christmas Dinner - if you have not pre-ordered Christmas lunch, your child will need to bring a packed lunch.

Friday 13th December -2pm Adders Healthy Living for parents 

Friday 13th December - PTA hot chocolate after school

Friday 13th December - Bentley village Christmas event - choir invited to sing.

Tuesday 17th December - Christmas performances

Thursday19th December-2.45pm- KS2 Clarinet concert. Parents welcome to attend

Friday 20th December - end of term

Monday 6th January - PD day - no pupils in school

Tuesday 7th January - children return to school
