Bentley Weekly Update 13/09/2024
Important Information to ShareFederation Healthy Living Day - all children need to be collected from the Copdock & Washbrook Village Hall at 3:15pm after the MacMillan event next Friday 20th. Please see the letter sent home earlier this week for all the details on the event. The lunch menu will remain the same, this will be delivered to school for the reception children and the village hall for the other year groups, food will be provided in grab and go bags. Preorder not required.
Cake Donations for Macmillan event - we would welcome any donations of cakes for our above event; please send into school on Thursday so we can ensure we have enough refreshments for visitors who attend on the day. Thank you for your support.
Menu amendment - please see attached poster for the amendment to the menu on 19th September. There is no need to preorder. Please note that jacket potatoes are available each day - the options are Mondays - cheese, Tuesdays - cheese/beans, Wednesdays - cheese/tuna, Thursdays - beans, Fridays - cheese/beans.
PTA 100 club - coming home today in your child’s school bag will be an envelope with the 100 club letter in. This is a great way for us to raise funds for the school and be in with a chance to win ourselves!! For a one off payment of £12 you will have two numbers enter into the monthly prize draw. There is a 1st , 2nd and 3rd prize each month. Prize amount will depend on amount raised. So please help us to make this 100 club the most successful yet ! Anyone can enter: Parents, Grandparents, Friends, Teachers, the more people that enter the more the monthly prize’s will be!

Learner of the Week - we will be using a new system to notify you via the website if your child has been nominated as the learner of the week for their class. This will be sent out on a Thursday. Certificates will be awarded in our family sharing assemblies on Friday afternoons at 2:45pm.
Lost Property - PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE label lunchboxes and clothing, including PE kit. It is vitally important that everything that comes into school is labelled so we can return these items to you and your child. We have had lots left behind every night so far - some of which have no names on them.
In order to help with labelling we have sourced 12 labels per Wolves child - these will be sent home today. Details of the company who supplied them were shared before the holidays and are on the sheet should you wish to order more.

REMINDERS!!!! Clubs - if your child would like to join the 'Stay and Play' sessions on a Tuesday, 3.15-4.15pm, please let us know as we do have a couple of spaces left.
Swimming lessons on Monday - a reminder that year 3 & 4 children will have swimming on Monday afternoons each week.
Adders children walking home - if you would like your child to walk home on their own/meet you at the end of the road. please give your permission via the office.
PE Days - reminder: Wolves: Monday and Tuesday, Hedgehogs: Monday, Adders: Monday and Tuesday. Children should come dressed in their PE kit on those days - please see uniform policy for PE kit details.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful! Friday 20th September - Federation Learning Day - Children across the federation will be joining together at Copdock and Washbrook Village Hall, exploring a Healthy Living theme. Reception will at Copdock for a morning of Forest School activity. Join us at the hall for our Macmillan fundraiser from 2.40pm on this day. |
