Bentley Weekly Update 6.9.2024
Important Information to ShareClubs
We will be making full use of Ben, our ITFC sports coach, during Monday lunchtimes. Initially this will focus on football training until our Sports Crew are fully in place to support next steps. This is funded by the school so there is no charge for parents.
After School Stay and Play sessions will be starting again next week, on a Tuesday, 3.15-4.15pm. We need a minimum of 6-8 people to make this a viable session so please let the office know if your child would like to join activites after school alongside their friends.There will be a small charge of £2 per session to cover costs (£14 total for the half term). Payment can be made via the website once you have signed up.
Bentley Office Hours
Mrs Cumberland will not be in school for a few weeks due to having an operation next week. The office will be covered every morning by other members of staff, it will not be manned on some afternoons but the phone will be answered and emails looked at so please email or call if you have any queries or need to give the office important information. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Mental Health and well-being workshops
All classes will be engaged in activities led by Suffolk Mind in the next couple of weeks.See this leaflet for more information.
Asda Cashpot for schools-If you shop in Asda between 2nd September and 30th November 0.5% of your total spend will go to a primary school of your choice. Please see the link for more information. https://www.asda.com/cashpotforschools
Summer Reading Challenge and Reading Giants
If your child took part in the Summer Reading Challenge from the library, and they bring in their certificate, they will be given an extra sticker on the Reading Giants chart and also be entered into a prize draw. They need to be in by next Friday 13th September.
Please also find attached the Reading Giants Guidelines and children will come home with a paper copy and a copy of their class' Book Bingo.
Permission forms for new starters
You will see two forms online for completing please - one is for visit permissions and home school agreement and one for photograph permissions. We would appreciate you completing this during next week. If you have any questions, please contact the office.

REMINDERS!!!! Parent welcome meetings this afternoon - a reminder of the welcome back meetings this afternoon - 2.40pm for Wolves parents and 2.50pm for Hedgehogs and Adders. Please wait on the playground and staff will let you know once the classrooms are ready for you.
Swimming lessons on Monday - a reminder that year 3 & 4 children will have swimming on Monday afternoons from Monday - please see the letter sent on Wednesday for details.
Adders children walking home - if you would like yourr child to walk home on their own / meet you at the end of the road. please give your permission via the office.
PE Days - reminder: Wolves: Monday and Tuesday, Hedgehogs: Monday, Adders: Monday and Tuesday. Children should come dressed in their PE kit on those days - please see uniform policy for PE kit details.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful! Monday 9th September - swimming starts for Yr 3/4 Friday 20th September - Federation Learning Day - Children across the federation will be joining together at Copdock and Washbrook Village Hall, exploring a Healthy Living theme. Join us at the hall for our Macmillan fundraiser from 2.40pm on this day. |
