Worship Group evaluation
Please spend a couple of minutes sharing your views with the children. They appreciate your time.
 
Anti-bullying Week 11th November
Children can wear odd socks all week for anti-bullying week to show that we are all unique. Head Pupils will be leading an assembly on Tuesday 12th November exploring the theme of 'Choose Respect'. Children will also be engaging in activities as part of class learning. Please see the attahced poster to support this learning at home too.

PTA AGM meeting is this Monday 11th November at 20:30 to 21:00.
Please join us at our annual AGM , it’s a great way to find out what we did last year and our plans for the school term ahead.
The zoom link has been emailed to you all.

Christmas Fair Friday 29th November at school at 3:15. If anyone is available to help us at the fair to help set up, run a stall or tidy away at the end of event, please let us know. All help is really appreciated 😁

Worship Group is on Monday
 
Sing Up at RHS
Foxes and Adders classes will be attending a vocal day at Royal Hospital School on Wed 13th November resulting in a concert at RHS at 1.45pm. Children will need to wear school uniform and bring in a packed lunch and drink that day to eat at the Royal Hospital School. They will be given a drink and a kitkat by the school for their mornng snack. (If they will not eat this, please send in an alternative snack). If your child is in receipt of free school meals and you wish for a school packed lunch to be provided, please let the office know by Monday morning.  Parents are invited to attend the concert, have you contacted the office if you would like to attend? If you are able to attend you will be able to take your child home from the venue at 2.15pm and we will also send you details of arrival / parking etc.
 
School Photos
Children should have brought home their photo ticket yesterday, please keep this safe as this is how you will be able to access the photos once released - see poster attached
 
Children in Need Friday 15th November
We will be supporting Children in Need day next Friday. Children can bring a suggested donation of £1 to wear non uniform PE / sports kit with trainers. They will be taking part in physical challenges (timed obstacle course, circuits etc.) next Friday lunchtime to raise money for this cause. 
 
Christmas Diary Dates
It will not be long until the Christmas activities start. We will be hosting a Christmas Dinner on Wednesday 11th December - menu and ordering details to follow soon.
 
Performances - Tuesday 17th December -  children will soon be rehearsing for our Christmas performances - there will be 2 performances of each show - one during the afternoon and one during the evening.  Details on how to obtain your tickets will follow nearer the time.  For now, please make a note of the date:  both Key stage performances will be on Tuesday 17th December;
KS1 2pm + 6pm, KS2 2.45pm and 6.30pm
If parents would like to attend both the KS1 and KS2 performance in the evening, a creche will be provided for school children whilst they are waiting to perform or go home. (KS2 children will be supervised from 6pm during the KS1 performance and KS1 children will be supervised from 6,30pm until KS2 has finished.)
 
Tree Service and Decoration making - this will be on the morning of Friday 29th November, family tree service at 9.00am followed by decoration making in class.
 

 

 

REMINDERS!!!!

Shared Learning and coffee & chat
A reminder of shared learning this afternoon. Parents are welcome to come into school for a coffee and chat from 2.15pm and then visit their child's class to see what has been taking place in the classroom from 2:45pm, anyone with more than one child can come in to classrooms from 2:30pm to enable them time to get around the classrooms.  (Please can we ask that siblings in buggy's do not attend due to space in the classroom and any siblings that do attend stay on parent's lap)
 
School lunches
Please ensure all KS2 school dinners taken are paid for each week.  There was a price increase from 5th November along with the new menu in last week's newsletter.
 
After School Clubs 
Monday after school KS2 Cake Club is now full and starts on Monday 11th November. 
 
Activity Club is running again on Tuesday after school 3:15-4:15pm from 12th November to 10th December - please let the office know if your child would like to join this. The charge is £2 per session and can be paid online or by cash/cheque to the office.There are still spaces for this
 
Friday morning Christmas Craft Club starts on Friday 15th November.
 
Parent Consultations
A reminder of parent consultations on Wednesday 13th & Thursday 14th November.  Slots are available to book until lunchtime on Monday 11th November.  Slots are set at 10 minutes, we do ask that parents stick to the time - should you require more time, please make contact with the office.  Please log onto the website to book your slot.  Please book one slot per child as there are limited slots available.

Poppy Appeal and Remembrance Service

Children will be walking to the memorial in the village on Monday 11th November for an 11am Remembrance Service.  Families are welcome to join us at the memorial.  

Wolves Class Maths Workshop
Miss Cooper is holding a maths workshop on the 14th November at 2:45pm. It will be an opportunity to work with parents to give ideas on how you can support your child's maths learning at home and any questions you may have about the maths curriculum. (Please can we ask that siblings in buggy's do not attend due to space in the classroom and any siblings that do attend stay on parent's lap)
 
Flu immunisation
A reminder that the immunisation team are in school on Thursday 14th November - please see the link for information and consent.
Friday 13th December 2pm - Adders adults welcome  to come into school and spend time with their child to find out more about their healthy living learning.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
