Information to Share

School Photos - the children should all be bringing home a slip from their school photos taken this morning.  Please see the attached information from Bentley Photographic to find out how to place an order.  If you have any issues please contact their customer support team via email at [email protected]  
 
Kittens Cake Sale - please support the first cake sale of the year.  Kittens' parents are invited to bring cakes in, everyone is able to purchase cakes from the playgound (weather permitting) at the end of the day.
 
Parent Problem Solving Workshops - Squirrels parents are invited in on Monday at 2:45pm for a Maths Workshop.  There will be an opportunity for Kittens parents to come to a Maths Workshop on Wednesday 20th at 2:45pm.
 
Parent Consultations - slots will close on Monday 11th at noon.  If you have not booked a slot by this time please contact the office.  Slots are set at 10 minutes, we do ask that everyone sticks to the time as best they can - should you feel you require more time, please make contact with the office.  Please log onto the website to book your slot.  Where possible, we ask that only one slot is booked per child as there are limited slots available.
 
Flu Vaccinations - the school nursing team will be visiting us on Thursday 14th to give the children the flu vaccination.  Consent was requested via the school nursing team.  If you have not given consent, your child will not receive the vaccination.  If you have any questions, please contact the school nursing team directly.
 
Sing Up at RHS - Foxes and Adders children will be attending a vocal day at Royal Hospital school on Wednesday 13th November resulting in a concert at RHS at 1.45pm.  Children are required to wear school uniform and bring in a packed lunch and drink.  Parents are invited to attend the concert, please contact the office if you would like to attend.  If you are attending you will be able to take your child home from the venue at 2.15pm.
 
Children in Need - we are asking children to bring coin donations into school on Friday to help cover a large Pudsey - all monies will be going to Children in Need.
 
PTA Meeting - please note this date has changed from Monday 11th November to Thursday 21st November at 8pm at The Brook Inn.  Please see attached flyers for details of events coming up.
 
Diary Dates - this terms rolls us into Christmas with lots of fun things planned.  We will be hosting a Christmas Dinner on Wednesday 11th December - this will require pre-ordering so please keep an eye on the newsletter for further details.  Our pupils will be working hard towards our Christmas performances - there will be 2 performances of each show - one during the afternoon and one during the evening.  Details on how to obtain your tickets will follow nearer the time.  For now, please make a note of the dates:  KS1 performances will take place on Monday 16th December, and KS2 performances will take place on Wednesday 18th December.
 
Anti-Bullying Week - next week, 11th-15th Nov, is anti-bullying week.  Please wear odd socks to celebrate what makes us all unique.  Head Pupils will be leading assembly on Tuesday exploring the theme of 'Choose Respect'.  Children will also be engaging in activities as part of class learning.  Please see the attached poster supporting this initiative.
 
Healthy Living Workshop - for Foxes parents attending the Healthy Living workshop next Friday, please can you download the YUKA app prior to the session.
 

 

REMINDERS!!!!

Please ensure your child has a named coat or waterproof in school for break times - we do like to get outside even if it's a bit drizzly.
 
Those in Woodpeckers who are swimming need to remember their kits on Mondays
 
Foxes need to remember clarinets for their lessons on Tuesdays
 
Reception children need to wear their Forest Schools clothing on Fridays
 
Earrings must be removed for PE lessons
 
Please ensure anything brought into school is labelled.  Look out for lost property on the lunchbox trolley each evening.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary.  In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context.  If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
