Homework
Homework is set on a Friday and is due in on the following Friday.
There will generally be some maths and a piece of English, either reading, writing or grammar. In addition children are expected to read 5 times a week and have their diaries signed each week to show this has been completed.
All children in year 5/6 should know all the multiplication and division facts up to 12 x 12. It is essential these are learnt and can be answered quickly as there is no time to calculate these when doing bigger calculations.
We work on a column of the year 3/4 or 5/6 words each half term. These are tested at the start and end of each half term to show progress. Please encourage your child to learn these as they are tricky words.
As part of encouraging the older children to become more independent it is their responsibility to ensure this is all done.
If your child finds a particular piece of homework too challenging, please ensure they speak to us before the day it is due in so we have the chance to help them.
