Welcome to the first week of the new half term.  I hope you all had a fantastic half term and spent some quality time with your family.

Worship Group is on MONDAY

I am out of class on THURSDAY - Mrs Atkins will be teaching you.

It is shared learning on FRIDAY - your grown ups are invited in to school from 2.45pm (unless you have siblings, then they can come in at 2.30pm).

You will need to wear your PE kit on MONDAY only as you have PE with Ben in the morning and with me in the afternoon with Hedgehogs.  Please make sure that ALL uniform is named (especially PE jumpers).

Please bring into school your clarinet on THURSDAY and make sure you are practising the notes we have learnt at home.

The learning behaviour this week is 'Try New Things' and our value this half term is 'Justice'.  Our words this week are: 'platelet' and  'capilliary'.

Our homework day is FRIDAY.  This week's homework (to be given out on FRIDAY 28th FEBRUARY 2025) is:

  • Maths: Division.
  • Writing: Please watch this VIDEO explaining subordinating complex sentence (from 4mins 24 seconds to 6mins 53 seconds).  The images for each sentence type are also below.  I would like you to write five sentences about the picture of the Greek Olympics (shown below). The task will be explained in detail in your homework book.  You must write using black handwriting pen and make sure that your presentation is of a high standard (clearly written handwriting and correct spellings).
  • Spelling Sheet - Words ending in 'cious' and 'tious'.
  • Practise the third column of the Year 5/6 Common Exception Words for a test THIS WEEK
  • Use TTRockstars to practise your times tables - you MUST know these!!  If you don't, you need to go on here EVERYDAY.
  • Read for Pleasure at least FIVE times this week and record this in your Log Book for our Reading Giants challenge.  Ask a grown up to sign your book.

Complete your homework and bring into school on FRIDAY 7th MARCH 2025.
