Welcome to week 2
Learning Behaviour - Enjoy your learning
Value - Courage
Vocabulary Reception - below, bendy. Year 1&2 diverse, culture
Below are the Curriculum Maps and these are on Wolves Topic page too, so you can see the topic we are doing, largely based on animals and plants. Please encourage your child to find out things at home, write about animals or make fact files to bring in and share and go on our Topic display.
I have updated Spelling Shed with games for Year 1&2. ttrockstars is also available to play at home and Year 2 in particular should be playing these regularly to learn their table facts. Well done to Erin and Lucy as you are the only ones who have been on ttrickstars last teerm. Logins are in the back of your reading diary.
Most of Year 2 have a Maths book with 4 pages (Test A) to complete. We mark them on a Friday and if your child hasn't done them, they will be missing Golden Time to do the Test. You can read the questions to your child. Some of the topics we may not have covered yet this year so they may need some support. Please write in the book any questions your child struggled with so that I know please.
Maths - 2D shape
Literacy - We are writing a guided poem When I'm by myself
Science - what is an animal? there are some lovely animal books in the Curriculum Visions online library and you have been sent login to this in emails previously. This counts as a read too.
PSHE - We are learning about diversity and communities this half term and looking at the book Amazing Grace and what makes up our identity. A chat at home about people they know who come from diverse cultures and different countries may help them understand, and also makes up their identity and what is special about them.
RE - we are learning about Islam in year 1&2. I wonder if anyone knows any Muslims who would be happy to speak to the children, probably on Teams link?
Art - We are looking at Damian Hurst this week.
Have a good week and if you are home learning, please send in photos or return to school with your work.
